Verse of the Day

"And what is the Exceeding Greatness of His Power to us-ward who believe, according to the Working of His Mighty Power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His Own Right Hand in the Heavenly Places..." Ephesians 1:19-20 (KJV"
— ROMANS 1:1-4; ROMANS 6:9; 1 CORINTHIANS 15:20; REVELATION 1:18
The Death of the Lord Jesus upon the Cross would never have been as significant as it really is with far-reaching implications for the entirety of mankind if He did not rise from the dead. He secured the Victory over death and the grave because He knew no sin but was made to be sin for our sakes *(2 Cor. 5:21).* In other words, He Himself bore our sin and their consequences in order that we would not need to bear them ourselves. After satisfying the claims of Divine Justice on the Old Rugged Cross and beyond, Jesus obtained Redemption for us on account of His Ultimate Sacrifice. Because He declared that *"It is finished..."* (Jn. 19:30), death itself could no longer hold Him captive.

The Victory of the Lord Jesus over death and the grave has two major implications for every Genuine Christian believer:

*(1.) THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE ORIGINAL SIN HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH:* This is in reference to Adam's transgression, which is essentially Eternal damnation and separation from God *(Rom. 5:17-19).* All that the sinner is required to do is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and accept the Price that has been paid for his sins as well as his sin nature. He also has to accept the Free Gift of Righteousness, which imparts to him the ability to live right *(Rom. 5:15-16).* The moment he does that, he gets reconciled back to the Lord God Almighty with all the full rights of sonship restored.

*(2.) JESUS ALSO BECAME THE FIRST BEING TO RISE FROM THE DEAD THEREBY PURCHASING FOR US THE SAME ABILITY:* Not only have we been set free from Eternal damnation and separation from God but we have also been liberated from the corruption of sin and the hold of the grave. The way the Lord Jesus rose from the dead is the same manner in which all the saints that were dead will rise from the dead at the Trumpet sound *(1 Cor. 15:51-58).* Hallelujah to the Lamb of God for Christ Jesus the Glorious is indeed risen!

Prayer Focus

"Heavenly Father, we exalt You for sending Your Own Son to die for our sins and raising Him from the dead for our justification. O Lord, please cause us to experience in full the Freedom and Victory that Your Death and Resurrection purchased for us in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen."
